It’s no secret that SUVs and crossovers are incredibly popular right now. We offer plenty of capable Dodge and Jeep® models here at Fields Chrysler Jeep Dodge Sanford, but we’re always excited to hear about another potential addition to our lineup. Recent rumors concern the Jeep Grand Commander, a stylish crossover that has been impressing drivers in China for a while now. It might soon end up in the United States, but the twist is that it would be a new Chrysler model.
This may seem strange, but a move like this would actually make a lot of sense. The Chrysler brand, like many others, is trying to adapt to a market where drivers want larger vehicles. Adding a new crossover or SUV to its lineup could work out well.
The Jeep Grand Commander in its current form looks much like a stretched-out version of the Jeep Cherokee. It has three rows of seating and it’s actually even longer than the Jeep Grand Cherokee. It’s powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that puts out 231 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
This model was recently spotted under minimal camouflage on the streets of Michigan. Why else test it out over here if there aren’t plans for an American version? We’re very interested in learning more about this potential new Chrysler vehicle. If you feel the same way, stay tuned to this blog to keep up with the latest news about Chrysler and Jeep vehicles.
