Being central Florida Jeep® dealers, we get excited whenever one of our vehicles wins an award. So, you can imagine how thrilled we are to tell you that two Jeep SUVs won top honors at this year’s Mudfest.
For the 23rd year in a row, journalists from the Northwest Automotive Press Association spent several days testing vehicles on a combination of on- and off-road courses. This year, crossovers, SUVs, and pickups faced off in the following six automotive categories:
- Premium Compact
- Extreme Capability
Based on the evaluations performed by the 28 NWAPA judges, the all-new 2017 Jeep Compass took top honors in the Compact Utility Vehicle segment. The 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee won the top spot in the Premium Utility Vehicle category.
“The Jeep Compass and [Jeep] Grand Cherokee Trailhawk faced tough competition at the Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year Competition, but took the crown for Best Compact Utility Vehicle and Premium Utility Vehicle,” said Tuan Huynh, NWAPA Mudfest Event Chair. “Jeep vehicles are renowned for going off the beaten path and this duo’s extreme off-road capability with competent on-road performance earned the votes of Northwest Automotive Press Association members.”
“We’re thrilled the Northwest Automotive Press Association has recognized both the all-new Jeep Compass and our [Jeep] Grand Cherokee Trailhawk with their prestigious awards,” said Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand – FCA Global. “This marks further recognition for [the Jeep] Grand Cherokee – the most awarded SUV ever – while [the Jeep] Compass earns high praise just as it arrives in Jeep showrooms across the country. We’re equally delighted that consumers are now enjoying the unmatched [Jeep] Compass capability that impressed the NWAPA members.”
